A female passenger riding in a pickup truck on Nahor Manor Road was seriously injured after a rock was thrown at the vehicle, shattering the windshield and striking her, according to a press release from the Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office. She was not identified.
The sheriff’s office is investigating the incident which occurred during the evening of April 7, near the 800 block of Nahor Manor Road just off Rt. 53.
“According to reports, while a vehicle was travelling along Nahor Manor Road a very large landscape style rock was thrown at the vehicle resulting in damage to the vehicle. The rock shattered the windshield and passed into the fully occupied passenger cabin. Unfortunately, one of the young female passengers in the vehicle sustained significant injuries after being struck in the face by the heavy rock,” according to a press release.
These injuries were severe and required emergency care at a local Emergency Department. “We are hopeful that someone in the public will have the valuable information we need to help us identify and hold the offender accountable for the acts that caused these injuries,” Capt. Aaron Hurd wrote in an email.

This incident is believed to be an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the community.
