Fluvanna County School Board approves 2025-2026 school calendar

The Fluvanna County School Board approved a school calendar for the 2025–2026 academic year on Wednesday, Feb. 12. A staff-led calendar committee and parents provided feedback on the school schedule.

The following are the main components of the 2025-2026 calendar:

August 6 is Open House for Fluvanna Middle School and Fluvanna High School students from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. There will be a dinner break from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

August 7 is Open House for Central Elementary School and Carysbrook Elementary School stu-dents from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. There will be a dinner break from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

August 12 is the first day for students. 

August 12-14 is a staggered start for PreK-Kindergarten students.

September 29-October 10, and February 9 – February 20, 2026, will be Parent-Teacher Confer-ences for Fluvanna Middle School and Fluvanna High School families. 

October 6-October 24 and February 23-March 13, 2026, will be Parent-Teacher Conferences for Central Elementary School and Carysbrook Elementary School families.

December 18 is an early dismissal for students and the last day of the first semester. 

December 19, 2025, and January 5, 2026, are staff days, and there is no school for students. 

January 6, 2026, students return, and the second semester begins.

May 20, 2026, is the last day of school and early dismissal for students.

May 22, 2026, is Fluvanna County High School graduation at 6 p.m.
