Fluvanna Elections 101, a public information session, will be held at the Fluvanna County Public Library on Sept. 2 at 7 p.m.. In this 30-minute presentation followed by a Q&A, the Electoral Board and Registrar Joyce Pace will explain how Fluvanna County elections work, covering types of elections, voting options, and safeguards that ensure election security.
With the upcoming Commissioner of Revenue election, it’s important for voters to be informed about candidates and issues. Local elections are often overlooked, but this is an opportunity for residents to make their voices heard and hold officials accountable. Voting is the foundation of civic engagement.
Effective voter education efforts are critical to ensuring that all potential voters have the necessary information not only to exercise their right to vote but also to understand and have confidence in the electoral process. It offers every person a voice in the collective guidance of their community and the nation. In an era where information and misinformation is churned out at a rapid rate, it’s not only a privilege to be able to vote but a responsibility to be informed, particularly regarding our democratic processes.
Informed voting means understanding the lasting impact of your choice. Voter education helps you make these decisions. Both individuals and society must ensure voters understand the candidates and the ballot.
