The Fluco volleyball team hosted a volleyball tournament on Aug. 28. The Flucos were impressive. In a tournament, matches are best 2 games out of 3 instead of 3 out of 5. The Flucos played 4 schools in one day and won 4 matches.
They topped Riverbend High 2-0. Standouts were seniors Kenya Wrigley with 10 digs and Molly McCall with 7 kill shots. The Flucos beat Page County High 2-0. Standouts were senior Carson Johnston and McCall with 4 kill shots each. The Flucos topped East Rockingham High 2-0. McCall had 15 kill shots. Chancellor High put up more of a fight, with the Flucos winning two games to one. In this match McCall had 15 kill shots Wrigley had 12 digs and senior Ellie Garrett had 14 assists
In these 4 tournament wins and two 3-0 dual match wins over Mills Godwin High the Fluco volleyball team is now 6-0 in matches with 14 games won and one game lost.
On Sept. 9 they hosted Charlottesville High to start a grueling Jefferson District schedule. After that the Flucos next home match will be Sept. 18 against Louisa County.
