Early voting for Virginia’s Nov. 3 general election begins Friday, Sept. 18, and continues through Saturday, Oct. 31.
This year’s ballot includes races for the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, along with three proposed amendments to the Virginia Constitution.
Fluvanna voters will choose between Democratic incumbent Mark Warner and Republican Bert Mizusawa for the U.S. Senate, and between Republican incumbent John McGuire and Democrat Tom Perriello for the 5th District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.
The ballot also includes three proposed amendments to the Virginia Constitution concerning reproductive freedom, marriage, and voting rights.
Fluvanna voters will also decide whether to authorize the county to impose a local sales tax of up to 1%, excluding groceries purchased for home consumption and essential personal-hygiene products, such as diapers.
How to Vote Early
Registered voters may vote early in person at the county registrar’s office, 265 Turkeysag Trail, Suite 115, in Palmyra. Voters should bring identification. Confirm hours and any holiday schedule with the Registrar’s Office at (434) 589-3593.
New for this election cycle, early voting offices statewide will open on the second and third Sundays before Election Day. Required weekend voting dates are Oct. 18, 24, 25 and 31.
The deadline to request a mail-in absentee ballot is 5 p.m. Oct. 23. Mailed ballots must be postmarked by Nov. 3 and received by noon Nov. 6. Oct. 23 is also the deadline to register or update an address and cast a regular ballot. Voters registering after that date may vote provisionally.
