On Monday, October 12, Fluvanna Veterinary opened for business in the former Martha Jefferson medical clinic, across from Wahoo BBQ at 17 Centre Street.
The clinic is state-of-the-art, with separate treatment areas for dogs and cats.
Dr. Rohan Rajapakse, DVM, MSc, DACLAM, known as Dr. Rohan, is a caring, experienced veterinarian dedicated to providing thoughtful, personalized pet care while building lasting relationships with the families who love them.
A graduate of Sri Lanka’s veterinary school, Dr. Rohan continued his graduate studies and biomedical research in France before building his veterinary career in the United States. He has served as a clinical veterinarian at both the University of Virginia and the University of Pennsylvania and is board-certified by the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine.
With extensive experience in small animal medicine and more than 20 years of connection to the Charlottesville area, Dr. Rohan is proud to call Central Virginia home.
“My goal is to provide high-quality, compassionate veterinary care while treating every patient and pet owner with the time, attention, and respect they deserve,” he said.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Rohan enjoys family time with his wife, Kumari, who is also a veterinarian and teaches at Tufts University, their sons Kyle and Kevin, and their golden retriever, Zion. He is also an avid tennis player.
