Kathy was a member of Palmyra United Methodist Church where she was active with the United Methodist Women and the “Church Chicks”. She retired from Chester Engineering in Gaithersburg, MD as a Human Resources Administrator. Kathy was very interested in both the performing and visual arts. She enjoyed painting, crafting ceramics and basket weaving; loved dogs; and was an avid UVA Women’s Basketball fan.
Kathy was the beloved wife of Joseph Leo “Joel” Dwyer, Jr.; the loving mother of three children, Erin Dwyer of Germantown, MD, Scott Dwyer and his wife, Lori, of Hillsborough, NC, and Craig Dwyer of Vail, CO; and grandmother of Ryan and Kevin Dwyer. Survivors also include a brother Paul Winkler of Yorktown, VA; a sister Christine Bush of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; a large extended family; and her special dog Seamus.
A memorial service will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 19, 2012 at Palmyra United Methodist Church by the Reverends Vivian Utz and Norman Towler, and Father James Flanagan.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Thacker Brothers Lake Monticello Funeral Home.
