Allen, of Richmond, is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Finance. She holds a Master of Education degree in Education Administration and Supervision from Virginia State University. She has 11 years of teaching experience with Richmond City Schools, according to a school press release.
She served as a business education teacher at Martin Luther King Middle School. Allen has experience in curriculum development, school improvement, and in discipline strategies.
“We welcome Ms. Allen to the Fluco team, she brings great skills to this position,” said Gena Keller, superintendent.
In additional staffing news, Clint Estes will take on the role of coordinator for early intervention
Services, a two-year position mandated through the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Special Education Programs, school officials said. Estes will work with staff in providing support services to students. His position as assistant principal will be filled by Ms. Yvonne Howdyshell, formerly an assistant principal for Carysbrook Elementary School.
Keller said, “these changes, although sparked as a result of a mandate received in mid-July, will prove to serve our students well.”
