Book fair

Everything purchased–from Starbucks drinks  to Nooks, gifts and books–will provide money to the high school library. There will also be a “wish list” table so people can specifically purchase books needed by the high school library.

There’s just one important catch: In order for the library to get proceeds from your purchase, you must mention Fluvanna County High School Library during your checkout process.

Mike Sheridan, who was recently elected a Board of Supervisors member, will be at Barnes & Noble on Dec. 6 reading the beloved children’s story The Polar Express. Artwork from the high school art department will be displayed at the store, and they will have a gift wrapping table to wrap your holiday presents. Members of the FCHS Interact Club will be assisting with the day’s activities.

The librarians know that not everyone can get to Charlottesville during the daytime, so the majority of the activities will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. “We hope that students will come out to support their school’s library, all while having a good time,” said Taylor.

Want to help this cause, but you can’t get to town that day? No problem. You can place your orders online. Just visit the Barnes & Noble website at www.bn.com/bookfair Dec. 6-11 and enter the special code (11181799), and a percentage of your purchase will go to the high school library. “Essentially Barnes and Noble will give us a gift card with the amount of money that will be raised that night, which we hope is a huge amount of money,” said Lucas.
