The final score was 61-51. The game was tightly contested throughout. Monticello led most of the first quarter, but the Flucos took the lead early in the second quarter and held it until the Mustangs managed to tie the score at 24-24 at halftime. Monticello grabbed a five point lead midway through the third quarter, but the Flucos cut the lead to two with two and a half minutes left in the game.
Unfortunately for the Flucos, a couple turnovers and accurate free throw shooting by the Mustangs led to 10-2 Monticello run and the final margin of ten. Fluco freshman post player Aamir Simms led the Flucos with 17 points. – Duncan Nixon
