Thomas F. Mains Jr.

Thomas F Mains Jr. of Lexington, Ky. and Fork Union, Va., passed away on  October 19, 2014. He is survived by his two daughters, Susie Mains and Vicki Henderson (Gary) as well as two grandsons, Alex DeAngelis and Ty Henderson. He is also survived by his brother, Joseph E. Mains, his sister-in law, Ellie Mains, and his nephew, Tom Mains. Tom was born in Richmond, Va. and was an outstanding student at the University of Richmond, excelling in religious studies. An avid runner, he was a Virginia state champion in the mile and won several marathons and 10K races. He was an entrepreneur and real estate investor, who also took an active interest in politics. He was a supporter and campaign manager of many candidates throughout his life. Most importantly, he was a lover of God and a devoted father, grandfather, uncle and brother. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date in Fork Union, Va. Memorial contributions can be made to the Lexington Humane Society at lexingtonhumanesociety.org. Kerr Brothers on Harrodsburg Rd. is handling arrangement.
