In this quarterfinal match in the 4A North Regional tournament, the Flucos lost the first game 25-23 and the second game 25-18. They fought back to win game three 29-27, but succumbed in game four by a score of 25-21.
All four games were close and hard fought. Maddy Kline, who was voted player of the year in last week’s Conference 23 tournament, led the Flucos with 23 kill shots. Leslie Walters and Kate Stutz, who were both first team All-conference 23, had 12 kills and 32 assists respectively.
Christi Harlowe-Garrett was named coach of the year.
Maddy Kline signed a National Letter of Intent to play volleyball at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington.
The loss ends the season for the Flucos.
The 2014 All-Conference 23 volleyball team was released Tuesday morning and Fluvanna picked up a slew of honors.
