Describe one of the highlights of your life.
I recently got to watch my daughter be baptized and it was just the best moment. To see her take that step of faith was so precious and sweet.
Describe one of the biggest surprises of your life.
Our third child was a bit of a surprise – a joyous one, but a surprise nonetheless.
Describe one of the tragedies/struggles of your life.
I was diagnosed with Crohn’s/colitis in my early twenties; it was a rough time with hospital stays, surgeries, and medications. I was blessed to have my mom with me; she really made sure I got the best care and asked all the right questions. My husband must be the best medicine as I haven’t had a flare-up since we met. It’s probably due to the surgery but don’t tell him – he likes to think he cured me.
Describe a dream you have for your future.
Grow old. Watch my kids go to college and get married. Play with my grandbabies.
Describe a fear you have for your future.
That the world is changing; that we may not have the freedoms tomorrow that we enjoy today.
Here’s your chance to sound off. If you could give one public service announcement or word of advice to the public at large, what would it be?
Be kinder than you have to be. You just never know what someone else is going through. I always liked the saying, “You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.” Be nice – it just works better.
