Beatrice Helen (Bea) Moore

Bea passed away at home in Lake Monticello, Va. on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015.
Born in New York City on April 6, 1932, Bea was the second of four daughters born to Helen and David Brown, who both had emigrated from Ireland.
Bea first met her husband of nearly 62 years, Richard T. Moore (Dick), in 1946, when she was 14 years old. They married on February 28, 1954 and had two children, Carol and David. Bea and Dick moved from New York City to Selden, New York, in 1966 and retired to Lake Monticello in 1993.
Bea is survived by her husband and children; son-in-law, Jonathan Fisher; daughter-in-law, Susan Moore; grandchildren, Kevin and Nicole Moore; step-grandchildren, Colin and Gavin Fisher; and more than a dozen nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Bea’s life and internment of her ashes will be held in May 2016.
Bea loved animals, and most especially her treasured pets Pinky, Boots, Cookie and Muffin. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to a no-kill animal shelter or to the ASPCA.
