Our most beloved and the quite hilarious, Thomas Alan Clifford, age 63, of Palmyra, Virginia passed away in his home on Saturday, June 4th. Tom was a helpful hand, a master prankster, a humorous magician, a Mr. Fix-It, a willing chauffer, an entertaining Sunday school teacher, an expert babysitter, a generous boss, a loyal friend, the kindest soul, a humble and loving husband, doting father, and faithful servant to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He bravely fought to live 12 years after being diagnosed with cancer in 2004. He fought to see his son marry the love of his life, to walk his daughter down the aisle to marry hers, and to hold and cherish his precious grandchildren. He left us just two days after his 42nd wedding anniversary. Tom cherished his family above all else. His home was never a castle, but a shelter of refuge for anyone in need. He naturally and genuinely cared for men, women, and children in ways that no one else seemed to know how. Any one who needed a father, a friend, a smile or joy found it in his company.
He leaves behind his treasured wife June, his son Kris, his daughter Nikki, daughter-in-law Layci, son-in-law Matt, and his three beautiful grandchildren Charli, Livvy, and Judah. Tom founded his own company, Actel Communications, and ran it successfully with the motto: “God first, family second, then work.” Tom also founded the Beautiful Gate Ministry along with his wife in 2012. He travelled to various states and countries on mission trips and doing ministry wherever he went.
In lieu of flowers, please make any donations to Beautiful Gate Ministry so we might continue his legacy of mission and ministry…bringing help, hope and healing to those near and far.
