Heidi Lenn Hooper suddenly died March 20, 2017. She has lived in Palmyra since 2003. She had been employed by Wal-Mart, SPCA, Caring for Creatures and recently as a caregiver. She was an advocate for animals, mainly cats. She fostered, adopted, and loved many cats, specializing in the medically fragile. She was raised in Concord, Calif., graduating from Clayton Valley High School in 1970 where she was on the elite gymnastics team and the Senior Girls Honor Society. She attended college in southern California. She was employed by Raytheon for 19 years in California.
She is survived by her mother, Joyce P. Hooper of Hayward, Calif., her sister, Ferol-Jeanne Hooper Brown of Hayward, Calif., and her best friend, Penny Stens of Palmyra, along with many other friends. She was predeceased in death by her father, Leonard F. Hooper, her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Owen W. Parker, and her brother-in-law, Kenneth Brown.
I want to thank Penny, Darlene, Sergeant Aaron Hurd, Lisa, and her next door neighbors (on both sides) for the kindness they showed me (her sister) while I was back in Virginia. Their kindness cannot be measured. Also, thank you to Select Cremations for their care of my sister. If interested in donating in her memory, please consider Caring for Creatures (caringforcreatures.com) or the SPCA.
