Tenaska Virginia Partners, L.P., owner of the Tenaska Virginia Generating Station near Scottsville recently awarded a total of $4,000 in college scholarships to four Fluvanna County High School seniors.

Jeffrey C. Moscicki presented the award to Sierra Durham-Lucero.The University of Virginia Community Credit Union presented a tuition scholarship of $1,500 to Sierra Durham-Lucero, a senior at Fluvanna County High School on May 23. She is one of 11 students to receive the award.

Lake Monticello Internal Medicine staffCrowds of patients and well-wishers turned out June 8 for a retirement and farewell celebration held for long-time area doctor Susan J. Moore. on June 8. Moore has been practicing in Fluvanna for over 20 years, and has been at Lake Monticello Internal Medicine operated by the University of Virginia Health Systems for the last 12 years.

CVEC’s Gary Wood and H.T. Brown presented linemen Chris Allen and Bryon Sandridge with the President’s Volunteer Service Award.

Bryon Sandridge and Chris Allen, two Central Virginia Electric Cooperative journeyman line technicians, were recently awarded the President’s Volunteer Service Award on the recommendation of the NRECA International Foundation, an organization that organizes cooperative utility relief efforts.
