Louis Karmondy

Those preceding him in death include his first wife, Marguerite Karmondy; a stepdaughter, Danielle Lingg and a stepson, Walter Lingg.

Mr. Karmondy was a member of Palmyra United Methodist Church, where he was active with the Methodist Men. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed camping and gardening. Before moving to Virginia, he was active in the Huguenot Reformed Church in New York. He retired from AT&T and was a veteran of the United States Navy.

Survivors include his wife, Isabelle Ruth (Martin) Karmondy; five sons and their wives, Kenneth and Cheryl Karmondy of New Jersey, Robert and Magda Karmondy of New Jersey, Donald and Rebecca Karmondy of Utah, Thomas and Catherine Karmondy of Colorado, and Timothy and Cindy Karmondy of Colorado; three stepchildren, Thomas Wilhelmsen and his wife, Susan of New Jersey, Sally Aversano and her husband, Vinnie of Florida, and Harold Lingg of Midlothian; a stepdaughter-in-law, Helen Lingg of New York; seventeen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Thacker Brothers Lake Monticello Funeral Home by Pastor Sandra Benton Plasters. Burial will follow at Monticello Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 15, 2012 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300 Charlottesville, Virginia 22911; or to the Palmyra United Methodist Church Expansion Fund, P.O. 151, Palmyra, Virginia 22963.
