Lookers

As I was thinking back to the good old days this week, it dawned on me one of the ways it was so “good.” I had “40’s on Four” on my car’s satellite radio when I entered the traffic circle on Rt. 53 at Rt. 600. It’s still under construction! “Lookers” still outnumber actual workers by at least four to one. Aren’t we in about the fourth month of construction? The History Channel just highlighted the construction of the 1,700-mile-long Alcan Highway in 1942. Under horrific weather conditions it was still completed in less than eight months! Ah, yes! Those were the good old days. I’ll bet they didn’t have a four to one ratio of “lookers’ to workers back then.
