A good man

He was a logging man and drove a school bus for Fluvanna County. Red as he liked to be called was a poker player and played in private homes in Lake Monticello. This source became unavailable so Red and family started playing poker at a Fluvanna restaurant along with many other people in the area. He was well liked by most people who knew him, he could handle any jokes thrown at him and give it back in spades. He was very friendly and liked socializing wherever he went. You can imagine the shock and disbelief when patrons of the restaurant and people who knew him learned of this tragedy, The poker players decided to cancel poker on April 2 to attend a memorial service in Charlottesville. Poker players took up a donation to have a wreath presented to the family at the service in remembrance of him. I could never imagine the total number of people who came to pay their respect. I`ve heard it said you will not be remembered by what you had or left behind but the number of lives you touch while you are here. Red obviously touched many lives because the funeral home was overrun with people for hours and created a traffic jam. I felt honored to have known such a good man and will miss his presence at poker and more.
