Director Swenson also told how some board members have not been privy to items to be voted on until the night of the meeting. Consequently, they have no opportunity to research the issues and hear from the public it’s concerns. To be expected, those Board members who do not wish transparency on issues or to hear public opinion, were very quick to vote down any policy changes.
Earlier, those same Board members experienced the out-cry of residents through e-mails they received following the last meeting, when they tried to railroad through unrealistic age restrictions on recreation facilities. They backed down.
Lake residents who feel that we need more up-front information about agenda items and more transparency by the Board should again, e-mail the directors who are resistant to this. Our opinions can matter if we stand strong.
