A committee of the middle school and central office staff recommended Farquharson’s appointment, according to a school press release. She was named to the post at the regular school board meeting held earlier this month.
“We are thrilled to have Dr. Farquharson join our administrative team. She brings wonderful energy to our school division and I look forward to working with her,” stated Gena Keller, Superintendent.
Farquharson has 18 years of experience in education. She began her career serving as a substitute teacher in Buffalo Public Schools in New York where she fell in love with teaching. Her eight years of teaching experience includes being a sixth-grade math teacher, a sixth-grade teacher and a summer school teacher at Monroe County Children’s Secure Center in Rochester, NY. She brings 10 years of administrative experience, which includes serving as a summer school administrator, assistant principal and building principal.
