This non-fiction tale of the founding and early history of the University of Virginia describes the raucous beginnings of Jefferson’s university in defiance of church, state and established academia. The book goes on to describe how the university later influenced changes in the university experience nation-wide.
Both Santos and Bowman are former reporters for the Richmond Times-Dispatch. Although Santos does not live in Fluvanna, he is full time editor of the Fluvanna Review and part-owner.
