Water authority

In 2010, the JRWA fell by the wayside as water plans evaporated.   But now the group, with three members from Fluvanna and three from Louisa, is up and running.

According to Supervisor Joe Chesser, one of the JRWA’s members, the group focused mostly on organizational tasks at its first meeting Tuesday (Oct. 15), such as electing a new chairperson and determining that JRWA meetings will be held on the first Tuesday of every month at 10 a.m. in the Virginia Community Bank at Zion Crossroads.

During the JRWA’s next meeting (Nov. 5), the Louisa County Water Authority, in conjunction with Fluvanna engineer Wayne Stephens, will present on how it plans to proceed with its pipeline through Fluvanna.  In addition, the JRWA will discuss how to go about applying for the withdrawal permit to be moved from its current location, Bremo Bluff, to Columbia. — Christina Dimeo Guseman
