I urge Fluvanna citizens to review the proposed 2015 county budget. Total expenditures increase by 16.71% or $11,093,740 or $1,232.64 a year on each of our 9,000 homes.
That is $102.72 a month per home from all taxes – federal, state, local, utility etc. – but citizens pay it all. The budget proposes a $10,025,000 increase in debt bringing our local debt/lease load to $118 million. Our annual debt service is an astonishing $7.5 million before the proposed $10 million.
Assuming 9,000 homes and a $77,486,022 budget each home is paying $8,609.56 for county government. Ask yourself what your household receives for that fantastic cost.
