Praise for the pro

I would like to put a shout out to Mark Marshall, our pro at the Lake Monticello golf course. On May 28 I took my two grandchildren, ages six and eight, for a lesson. As we entered the pro shop Mark was waiting and ready to go. He checked the boys clubs in both their bags before going to the practice green. After about 25 minutes the boys then made contact with the ball. When Robbie and Daniel stopped for a drink, he then sat them down and asked questions of each one as to what he said up to that point. The boys answered then went back driving the ball. I realize this is standard procedure and done hundreds of times a day, however, Mark has a special way with children you have to see to appreciate. It is more like a game than instruction. I would strongly recommend to parents or grandparents who have children interested in golf to make an appointment for a lesson. Start the children off with the proper techniques. I feel that those who take advantage of this will, like myself, be impressed. The course is in great shape and I can say with confidence, being a golfer myself, Lake Monticello is a much better place for having Mark and his staff. Come on down and see for yourself. Use this great amenity and we all benefit. A bad day on the golf course is better than a good day at work.
