Though the state is facing a budget shortfall of almost $1.6 billion, Fluvanna’s state funding may remain mostly intact, said Finance Director Eric Dahl.

“Initial projections show that there’s not going to be a major impact on Fluvanna County,” Dahl informed supervisors.

Probably the largest impact to the county will be a reduction in state funding to the schools of about $21,000.

Also, Fluvanna’s constitutional officers will likely not receive any career development pay.

Dahl told supervisors he hoped to have an update in a week after further developments from the state.
