Questions for Aqua

I was glad to read the article – more a press release – about Aqua Virginia “upgrading Lake water treatment plant” in your June 19 edition.
The article states that since 2003, “Aqua has spent more than $5.1 million on improvements to the water treatment plant” and will be “installing new water filters at an estimated cost of $290,000.”
I support these improvements and hope they make our service better and I am not a rabblerouser who is out to bust Aqua in the chops. But the article raises several important questions, foremost among them:
1. Will the water taste any better than it currently does?
2. Will the improvements do anything to abate the consistent noxious odors that arise in various pockets throughout the Lake community? Will the improvements do anything to mitigate the current water bills?
If Aqua or a Review reporter has responses to these questions, I look forward to hearing them.
