Lake residents want upgrade

The dues increase proposal approved April 9 will be used to help fund the renovation of the Ashlawn clubhouse, to build a new building at the Bunker location, upgrade the playground and rebuild the Ashlawn basketball court.
Among the benefits of the project that we see are: a new pub/sports bar/cafe with a liquor license and big-screen TVs as a community gathering place; a new event center with four meeting rooms instead of just one, which can be combined into one large room for larger events; a nice new golf facility that will make it easier to attract golfers, thus making it easier for the golf course to break even financially; an upgraded and expanded Ashlawn Grille; an expanded, upgraded and more attractive Falcouner room that will both allow larger meetings and club events, and will be rentable for large private events such as weddings, anniversaries and graduations; an upgraded deck will make it nicer to sit out, taking in the lovely view of the lake and swimming pool; an overall updated and more-attractive exterior and interior that will make our whole community more attractive for ourselves and for potential buyers.
All Lake Monticello residents are invited to participate with this group and add your voice and ideas about the importance of increasing the dues to fund the renovation of the Ashlawn clubhouse and the new Bunker Recreation Center. Become part of a group of Lake property owners whose goal is to improve the quality of life at the Lake and increase property values.
The next meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on April 21, 2015 at the clubhouse. Meeting information can be found in the Friday Flyer, Lake Facebook page, and the calendar on the Lake website.
