After two innings the Flucos led 3-1 and it looked like this might be a close game. However, the Flucos exploded for six runs in the bottom of the third. Senior shortstop Alexis Scott bounced a double over the right center field fence and sophomore first baseman Sophie Kershner hit the base of the fence in right center on the fly for another double for the two big hits of the inning. Scott added a home run in the sixth and was 4 for 4. For the second night in a row, junior pitcher Annaliese Kennedy overpowered the opposition, as she struck out ten in seven innings. The Flucos are now 19-3 on the season, and they host Sherando High on Monday June 1 as Region 4A play gears up. – Duncan Nixon
