Thanks for care

My husband, Del Henderson, required medical care during the last week of his life and I want to give thanks publicly. Thanks to the two-man squad who transported him to UVa Medical Center on July 17. He said you were efficient and organized – high praise considering he didn’t want to be in your ambulance at all! Del took a serious turn for the worse on July 25 and I had to call twice for help. Thanks to Officer Walter Finley who showed up both times and was a calming influence for me; Shannon Bossieux and Joseph Reintges, and others, cared for him with humor and kindness, and even carried a recliner chair from the basement to the bedroom for his use and safety; Nancy Burrowes and a large team responded in the evening and were swift and efficient, and clearly compassionate, in caring for him during his obviously terminal event.
Special thanks to two of the Coast Guard, Tim Consroe and Tim Eskert, who responded to the emergency situation on our back deck. Although no one heard me screaming for help, God must have heard me because he sent you two angels to assist both me and Del. I am forever grateful for your assistance in that terrifying situation.

Del died at UVa Medical Center on July 26 but I am left with the comforting memory that all of you responded and cared for him with expertise and compassion in our greatest hour of need.
Thank you.
