Support Perrie Johnson for School Board

I write in support of Perrie Johnson, who is a candidate for the Fork Union District seat on the Fluvanna County School Board. Her 25 years as an educator shows her dedication to our students as she seeks what is best for our school system. Perrie is a person of the highest integrity and she has the ability, desire and leadership skills to get the job done. I have had the fortune of being led by Perrie in her capacity as president of the Fluvanna Education Association. I know her heart and the passion she applies to everything in which she involves herself. Perrie understands the constant changing and complex environment youth face in education today and is well equipped to navigate these waters. She has proactive ideas for improving how our county schools function not only financially but also in the classroom. Perrie wants a more focused approach for how our precious tax dollars are applied to maximize what can be done at the classroom level so that teachers do not have to pay out of pocket to help teach our children. Also of significance in her ideas for improving education is to reduce the amount of testing that is required in order to allow our children’s teachers to spend more time teaching what matters. When she announced her candidacy, I was excited to hear Perrie is willing to assist in the leadership at the School Board level and I fully support her candidacy.
