If you want all of this in a School Board representative then your choice needs to be Perrie Johnson! Perrie has been attending School Board meetings for the past five years. At each meeting she speaks out during public comments about issues on the agenda and as a School Board member would encourage more public comments. Perrie has a Bachelor of Science degree in finance which would be invaluable in dealing with the complex school budget and has ideas to move budget items around to offer better spending. Perrie is ready to get to work and has ideas to limit and improve the amount of student testing. She was a school teacher for 25 years in Fluvanna schools, she was lead teacher at Palmyra and classroom teacher at Columbia, Cunningham, Central and finally at Carysbrook where she retired from in 2014. After her retirement, her passion for teaching led her back to volunteer at Central. She has proved herself as a leader by serving as president of Fluvanna Education Association for five years.
In Perrie’s own words: “I am passionate about the success of our students.” Isn’t that the type of person you want on our School Board?
