LaVere A. Shultz

After 30 years of service, he and Marjorie retired to Lake Monticello. They enjoyed many wonderful years at the lake.

Larry enjoyed involvement in his church and community. In Indiana he was a volunteer firefighter and served as chief for a year. He sang in barber shop quartet and church choir, played drums in a senior band, and belonged to the Coast Guard Auxiliary and Lake Monticello Amateur Radio Group.

He is survived by a son Michael Shultz of Lake Monticello; a daughter Sally Caffrey and her husband, Doug, of Grantham, N.H.; and three grandchildren, Sarah Caffrey of Orlando, Fla., Mary Caffrey and Samuel Caffrey of Grantham, N.H. Also surviving are three siblings, a sister Rosemary Kyle of New Concord, Ohio, a brother Cleon Shultz of Sturgis, Mich., and another brother Keith Shultz of Howe, Ind.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 6, 2017, at Meadows Presbyterian Church in Charlottesville, Va.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Lake Monticello Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, Inc, 10 Slice Road, Palmyra, Va. 22963.
