Virginia Tourism Corporation (VTC) has officially approved Fluvanna County as a recognized Destination Marketing Organization (DMO).
This designation follows a dedicated effort led by the Economic Development Office, which submitted the petition after receiving unanimous support from the Fluvanna County Board of Supervisors. As an official DMO, Fluvanna County will now have enhanced capabilities to promote its unique attractions, natural beauty, and rural heritage on a larger scale.
This recognition allows the county to access state resources, funding, and collaborative marketing initiatives aimed at boosting tourism and economic development.
Chris Fairchild, chair of the Fluvanna County Board of Supervisors, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “This is a tremendous opportunity for Fluvanna County. Our new DMO status will enable us to attract more visitors, stimulate local businesses, and highlight the unique charm and history of our area. We are excited about the positive impact this will have on our community.” “We are thrilled to have Fluvanna County recognized as an official DMO by the Virginia Tourism Corporation,” said Jennifer Schmack, Director of Economic Development. “This designation marks a significant milestone in our efforts to showcase the wonderful experiences Fluvanna has to offer and to drive tourism growth in our community.”
