The signs across Rt. 53 from Effort Baptist Church are on the property of an individual who owns 1,564 acres in the county with an assessed value of $2.3 million. Similar signs across Rt. 15 from EW Thomas are on property owned by an individual from the county who had plans to build a strip mall there. These individuals and others with such property interests are obviously not firmly planted in the middle class, but rather would tend to be of at least moderate wealth. So, as I contemplate upon whether I wish to heed these signs and vote for Mr. Romney, et. al., I must ask myself but one question. Just whose interest will they represent? I doubt very much that it will be my own or of those who are more in need of concern and action.
