This is not the first time Dr. Mayfield has come to our rescue. Last summer, when we suffered a power outage lasting a week, he had several of his staff deliver water, ice, and battery operated fans to our rescue. Though we do our best to prepare for disasters, typically storing three days of water for use during such an event, even that quantity of water was not enough to carry us through the week. Since our well runs on electricity as does the rest of our home, and given that we do not own a generator, Tenaska’s donation of water, ice, and fans literally saved the lives of our senior dogs, which are more vulnerable to the extremes of hot and cold because of their ages.
Our new panels are ready to install and volunteers are being recruited to participate in that project. We are eternally grateful to the help Tenaska has given Peaceful Passings during these times of great need. I can only attempt to express in words the gratitude I have for Dr. Mayfield and his staff at Tenaska for helping still yet another fragile population, senior animals. I think we have all heard of his support for schools, the elderly, and the disadvantaged. Now, it is time to applaud his efforts to help our senior canine companions. Dr. Mayfield is a man of true compassion who has repeatedly demonstrated his willingness to give back to our community.
