The college was one of three among the 23 community colleges in Virginia to experience an enrollment increase for the summer 2012 semester with a record-breaking 2,192 students taking credit classes, up 2.9 percent over the previous summer. For the fall 2012 semester, 5,693 students completed credit classes, up 0.2 percent and the highest yet for a fall semester at PVCC. Enrollment in the spring 2013 semester declined 3.6 percent, the first drop for that semester since spring 2006, according to the release.
The top 10 choices for credit classes were English, biology, math, history, information technology essentials, nursing, psychology, student development (orientation), natural science, art and accounting. The number of students enrolled exclusively in online credit classes increased by 23.2 percent, according to the release
