Focus on Fluvanna’s Future has been a influencing force in helping secure increased support and funding for education, while also pushing for an overall strategic plan that better positions Fluvanna for future success. We consist of progressives and conservatives, young families and seniors enjoying retirement. But one common thread cuts across each of us, we share a passion and love for Fluvanna and a desire to get Fluvanna back on the right track by balancing our tax base to shift the burden off of homeowners and to support the core services our community values.
While many have attempted to marginalize our efforts as a minority, this changed on Nov. 5. There is now no more denying the size and support of those who value moving forward. Our voices have been heard loud and clear through our votes when we overwhelmingly voted in Tony O’Brien and Mike Sheridan onto the Board of Supervisors. With a healthier culture on next year’s board and the true leadership Mike and Tony bring, we have a real chance to bring the community together and work towards solutions instead of backdoor politics and empty promise slogans.
Fluvanna faces some tough decisions, but by working together in promoting Fluvanna and finding real solutions, Fluvanna will restore our strong reputation as an amazing place to grow up, raise a family, own a business, and enjoy retirement.
We owe Mike and Tony a debt of gratitude for stepping up in Fluvanna’s time of need. But most importantly, we owe each and every one of you who got informed on the issues, got engaged in spreading the word, and who walked into the polls and placed a vote to focus on Fluvanna’s Future.
