Special Fluvanna event

Saturday the 24th of January, an overflow crowd filled the county library meeting room to view entries to the Market Fluvanna competition and to cheer the prize winners. While the applause was enthusiastic and the generous community-sponsored prizes were certainly a tribute to the competitors something else of great importance filled the room – the people who were there on that rainy, chilly afternoon.
Supervisors (past and present) including the Board chairman; representatives of the teaching community including the superintendent of schools; representatives of community organizations who had provided firm support; staff from the county who had done the heavy lifting on the organization of this rather complex project including the county administrator; a reporter from the Fluvanna Review insuring press coverage of the awards; and parents, families and friends of those who had stepped forward to compete – all joined together to celebrate this special Fluvanna event.
What better reward could there be?
