I want to urge Lake Monticello Owners’ Association voters to consider the entire plan when making their voting decision. If you don’t agree with one aspect of the plan, but agree with the majority of it, please vote ‘yes’. Voting ‘no’ would not simply mean modifying the project plan further – it means only addressing immediate safety and accessibility issues to facilities which will still come at a cost of $2-3 million. If we are going to invest in the community, why not do it in a way that improves our facilities in new ways and offers something for everyone to enjoy instead of bandaging up aging facilities? I know how I’ll vote – I’ll vote in favor of updates that have been put off for way too long to the clubhouse, to a new recreation and meeting facility on Bunker, to improving the basketball courts that have always been in use any time I’ve been in that area – even in the rain, and to upgrades to the playgrounds for families with young children.
