Responsibility with dog owners

Since the acceptance of the new policy by the BOS, I have been speaking with every dog owner I come across on my visits to Pleasant Grove to walk my dog about the policy. Unfortunately I have been disappointed by too many responses with the attitude that they are going to do what they want no matter.
The new policy accepted by the BOS will only remain in place if dog owners embrace and comply with the new policy. The first incident involving a dog will undoubtedly lead to parks and recreation returning to the BOS with an ‘I told you so recommendation’ that will be accepted and eliminate dogs off leash everywhere in the park system.
I urge all dog owners to accept the new policy with the utmost seriousness, police the policy diligently, enjoy the privilege and make full use of the off leash/leash in hand areas and trails.
