Ron Gale, a resident of Lake Monticello, passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at the age of 84.
He was born Jan. 7, 1933, in New York.
Ron is survived by his children and grandchildren, and many of those who have loved him.
He was an active member of the community. He served as a member of the Fluvanna County Chamber of Commerce where he was the planning commissioner for 12 years. He also was owner of the Fork Union Hardware Store.
In his spare time, Ron enjoyed playing golf and cards with his friends. He was a dedicated fan of the University of Virginia women’s basketball team. He would never miss a game. Most of all he loved to travel. He enjoyed going to the beach and feeding the fish in the ocean.
A memorial service will be held at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church at 4309 Thomas Jefferson Parkway, Palmyra, Va., 22963, on Aug. 12, 2017, at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lake Monticello Fire and Rescue Squad at 10 Slice Road, Palmyra, Va., 22963.
