Here is how that question was portrayed in the survey results:
“Do you approve or disapprove of the way supporters of public education have conducted themselves in Fluvanna County?”
Some of the other questions were just as slanted and the portrayal of the answers just as deceptive. This is not how we usually conduct public debate in Fluvanna.
Of course, we do not condone anyone calling board members names or threatening their businesses. We believe in civil discourse in Fluvanna. But this “push poll” is just another attempt to distract the public’s attention away from the fact that the board of supervisors cut the expected school budget by $2.3 million, and that that cut was carefully planned several days before and then kept secret from the public and the school board until three hours before the vote. We do not condone secret government in Fluvanna and we do not condone deceptive ads or polls.
Fluvanna United, who are you? Do you have any connection to Fluvanna County? If so, would you like to come forward and be part of an honest, open discussion? That’s the way we conduct public debate in Fluvanna.
