At this event there is the story and celebration of Christ’s birth, a special program of music and entertainment, a visit with Santa and refreshments. Each child ( ages 1-12 yrs) who attends will take home age appropriate toys and will receive a voucher that can be redeemed at Fork Union Pharmacy, Jefferson Pharmacy or the Family Dollar Store in Fork Union. They will also get to participate in a free raffle to win some of the major gifts that have been donated, and each family will receive a holiday food basket for the entire household.
Food baskets, small Christmas decorations, and gifts vouchers are given to qualifying senior citizens of Fluvanna County to help insure that their holiday is a pleasant one as well.
But FCSS needs your help in preparing for this event more than ever. Donations of nearly new/new toys, games, books, and sports equipment are desperately needed. Non-perishable food items are collected as well. Artificial Christmas trees are needed for the raffle activity.
The local establishments below have agreed to be drop off centers for donations and the Happy Face Boxes will go out Oct 22 to Nov 22. Tax deductible monetary gifts to support the vouchers are available through local churches and FCSS members.
