Vote Douglass

It doesn’t have to be that way. For instance, two recent wonderful events in Fluvanna -The Fluvanna Wine Festival sponsored by the Fluvanna Chamber of Commerce and Old Farm Day sponsored by the Fluvanna Historical Society – were the result of Republicans and Democrats working together to get the job done.

When we choose our next elected officials, please think about who is the best candidate to build effective compromises between different political factions.

One such candidate is Retired Brigadier General John Douglass, who is running for the House of Representatives. Throughout his military career he has led teams to work together and find common sense solutions to difficult problems. General Douglas served in the military for more than 35 years, with top leadership positions under Presidents Reagan and Clinton. His opponent, current 5th district Representative Robert Hurt, follows Eric Cantor in refusing to work together with Democrats, refusing to consider any alternatives or compromises.

So it’s up to you to decide if we have to put up with four more years of gridlock. If you want congressmen who will build bridges across the political aisle, consider voting for General Douglas for as our 5th District representative. Take a look at the recent debate between Douglas and Hurt in Danville to make your own assessment:
