Supervisors Kenney and Chesser both leave the Fluvanna board in December of this year. They will not be here to work the problems of how to fund the upfront costs, the tax discounts to lure businesses and the mandatory hook-ups required of Fluvanna citizens. Those problems will be in the laps of next year’s and future board members. Both of these gentlemen could demonstrate respect for their constituents and future board members by declining to vote on the proposal. The ethically and conscionable act would be to leave the decision to the 2014 board who will have to implement the decision.
Mr. Kenney and Mr. Chesser, please do not create a problem and then leave. Let the next board decide. If your plan is as good as you believe, maybe the next board will be as smart as you are and approve it.
