Outstanding public servant

In addition to his friendship, we also had a business relationship while I worked as Fluvanna editor for The Central Virginian in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s. No information had to be pried from his office. Everything was transparent, and his professionalism representing the clerk helped me tremendously while doing my job. Even as a friend he was fair to all the other competition when information was needed about the election or a case.
I will miss his sense of humor.
As he goes through another stage in his life, I am confident that he will remain the same, positive, compassionate, helpful person he has always been.
