But why should we care in election season 2015 about a supervisors meeting that happened in July 2010? Because if you’re going to commit taxpayers to the biggest capital cost and debt in county history, as John Gooch did, you better darn well know what you’re doing and not be surprised later by the price tag.
Whether it’s a school, a water line, the county budget or a proposed new development, what we all desperately hope for in a supervisor is someone who will be on top of the issues, analyze proposals, ask the tough questions, and know the costs and consequences of every action before voting.
In the Palmyra District, the supervisor candidate who fits that description is Patricia Eager. Running against Mr. Gooch, Patricia has the smarts, knowledge of county issues and work ethic that will make her an incredible supervisor. I have watched Patricia in action at countless Planning Commission meetings, where she has served for 16 years, four as chairwoman, and on the A-1 Zoning Task Force, where I was her colleague. She does her homework, stands up for citizens, knows the county budget and plat map like the back of her hand, and will win you over with her kindness and generosity.
If you want a supervisor who is incorruptible, listens to citizens and darn well knows what she’s doing when she votes on those all-important issues, vote for Patricia Eager.
