Old Farm Day a success

The weather cooperated and Fluvanna’s Pleasant Grove Park was a buzz of fun, enlightenment, and laughter on Saturday, May 7. Congratulations to the many, many people who worked so hard to make the 20th Old Farm Day come alive and be a great success. Special thanks to the three co-chairs: Tricia Johnson, Mary Tilman, and Jackie Bland as well as the 21 Old Farm Day committee members. I am fully aware of the many, many hours that went into planning the event, from securing business supporters; recruiting vendors and entertainment; advertising; planning the parking; planning educational booths; and recruiting lots of volunteers for the day of the event. We had family members come down from Washington D.C. for the event and they had a blast. Other family members, who have lived in other parts of the country, commented on the warmth and friendliness of folks in Fluvanna. Old Farm Day is one of the many reasons that Fluvanna is a great place to live, work and play.
